With a home base near Detroit Michigan, Pratt & Miller is probably one the the biggest names you've never heard of. The fine folks there are responsible for making the C6.R ALMS cars. From the hydroformed aluminum chassis to the aerodynamics of the body to the suspension tuning, Pratt & Miller does it all. Not only that, but they run the Cadillac CTS-V's used in the Speed World Challenge as well as other cars. All around, they're badasses.
Yea, I definitely sent my resume and a cover letter to them today for an internship. Fingers crossed.

I don't even wanna know how expensive that would be. But who cares. That'd be awesome.

EDIT (I don't know how to edit posts with new Kinja).
Yes, ALMS is ending, but they still supply chassis' to NASCAR and have their feet in other racing series as well, so hopefully they'll find steady work elsewhere.

A few NASCAR teams contract out their chassis to P&M. Saying that they supply chassis for NASCAR is quite the overstatement.
But P&M is quite awesome. I have a couple of friends who work there, and they have some great stories.
...Did you know that they fielded a LeMons car?

Blargh. Well, I was trying to troll your post hardcore but Kinja will not allow it. It is sad though, included discussions about the C7.R, their military division and the fact they've been building Chevy racecars since 1989.

Always been a fan of Pratt & Miller. They've really helped with the "bargain" supercar fighter image that GM has tried to cultivate for the Corvette over the last 15 years.
Also it's cool that their mascot "Jake" made it on the ZR1's intake snout.

Right. I should have made it more clear they dont supply ALL NASCAR chassis, just to select teams.
And yea they sound awesome. And a LeMons team? Even more awesome.
I mean, blind shot in the dark here, but if you're up for it I could send you my resume and cover letter to pass along to said friends? I mean, I submitted them to the company, but its always nicer to have some sort of an in.

Yea they truly are a very widespread company. To write about everything they do would take months. The post was more just to say that I sent them my resume and give a little info on the company.
Military, multiple race teams, tons of experience, specialty vehicles (road legal C6.RS), Restomods. You name it, they do it. Incredible stuff.

Its on.
Best of luck to you though. Lord knows we both need it. I can't image how many applications they most likely get each year.

I always find it funny how at the end of the day, little racing shops like P&M can pretty much help define an entire automotive legacy. Seriously, if I told someone 25 years ago, at a time when the C4 ZR1 hadn't came out, that the Vette would be running away Le Mans and North American GT racing, and they would think I was crazy.
